Who would have ever thought that we would ever be dealing with situations like unisex bathrooms? Target has caused so much media attention for allowing a man who considered himself to be a woman, to enter the woman’s bathroom. I admire them to an extent that they are sticking to what they believe is right. There have been so much negative comments towards their store policies but they remain firm. They are losing customers right and left but they support the LBGTI (Lesbian, Bisexual, Gays, transgender, intersex) individuals against discrimination.
So aren’t we being hypocrites by not agreeing and discriminating against transgender people? Isn’t this supposed to be a free country? Isn’t that why everyone comes to America? Don’t we like to preach how this is a free country and that we have the freedom of speech and liberty and justice for all? And that we don’t discriminate against race, color, religion, or sexual orientation? We should think of them as if they were our own children. We wouldn’t like anybody to point fingers at our children or make them feel less of a person. It’s about time transgender start speaking up and demand to be treated as equals. Personally, I see where people are coming from when they comment about women and children’s safety. But why not make three bathrooms? One for men, one for women, and one for transgender? There are over one million transgender in the United States and whether we agree or disagree we will have to adjust.
